Our hygienists Darrell and Bridget provide patients with excellent oral health instruction. In addition to cleaning teeth, they share tips and techniques for better brushing, flossing and caring for existing dental work.
What is Good Oral Health? It starts with knowing how to care for your teeth and gums so that everything feels good and looks good, too. It is setting a foundation for healthy gums and supporting bone tissue. Seeing us promptly at the first signs of discomfort will alleviate further pain or unnecessary tooth loss.
Top Dental Misconceptions: I don’t need to see a dentist until I have pain. Don’t wait for pain to see a dentist – make it a priority. Just as important as eating nutritious foods and exercising to keep your body fit, your teeth need attention, too. Maintenance is the key to prevent unwanted pain or unnecessary tooth loss. We recommend having your teeth cleaned and examined twice a year.
I will lose my teeth anyway at a certain age because my parents did. Simply not true. Although some people genetically have stronger tendencies to experience problems with their teeth, many of those problems can be circumvented with routine cleanings and exams.
I’m afraid it will be painful. We make patient comfort a high priority in our practice. We offer light oral sedation or nitrous oxide (gas) to anxious patients, which helps take a nervous edge off while having dental work completed. Again, we recommend not waiting until you experience pain to come in for necessary dental work.
I don’t have any way to pay for it. We accept most major types of insurance and we offer payment plans through CareCredit (www.carecredit.com). General Maintenance Dentistry includes: Routine cleanings and exams Routine x-rays to see if problems are developing under the tooth, root, or gum surface Composite, or white, fillings to fix small cavities
Early Warning Signs might include: Biting pressure pain that may indicate a crack developing in a tooth; Tooth sensitivity to hot and cold items in your mouth; or Tooth sensitivity to sweets Your dental needs are our priority. We try to quickly accommodate dental emergencies and patients experiencing pain.
